During a trip aimed at finding his own self, Jean-Charles lands in Tulum in 2009 and meets with the diving world. Rapidly, he gains a lot of experience and becomes a cave diver in order to explore the mystical and fascinating cenotes.
Then, he starts getting trained as a professional diver, and even becomes instructor for specialties such Sidemount, Backmount, Advanced Nitrox orDecompression Procedures. He is now PSAI instructor thanks to Patrick Widmann, PROTEC Instructor, whose training is extremely picky and professional.
After spending a few years working for other dive shops, he decides to open his own dive center. Offering private and personalized services. It is in April 2016 that Zen Diving opens his doors!

Having fallen in love with the cenotes more than 10 years ago, his passion does not cease to grow and that is why he opened Zen diving, a dive center which resembles him. Jean-Charles is enthusiastic, professional, and hardworking, but furthermore, he will never get tired of sharing his knowledge on cenotes, their formation, cave diving techniques and even more.
Shannon grew up in Canada and decided to have a complete change of scenery by settling down in Tulum. She is extremely passionate about diving, the caves and the Decompression Theory. She would love to guide you on a cavern or cave tour but even more on an advanced nitrox dive. A great Open Water instructor, which help you fall in love with diving!
Recently arrived in the region, Eva is a guide and an instructor with an unstoppable will to learn new techniques and discover new sites. Having a master’s degree in marine biology, she also supports the protection of the marine life and will gladly share with you her experience on this subject.
Our great friend Richie Schmittner, great cave diver and amazing guide, decides to spend more and more time behind his camera and begins his photography renommée through The Light Factory.
